Stallion Capella Chosen to Be Breyer Model
To help raise awareness for the endangered Abaco Barbs, Breyer Animal Creations, a division of Reeves International, Inc. has responded with the creation of its first Breyer Benefit Model from which a portion of the profits will benefit Arkwild, a U.S.501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of endangered species. Arkwild works with the Government of the Bahamas and the Wild Horses of Abaco Preservation Society (WHOA) to support Abacos Barbs.

Breyer is also helping to raise funds for this cause through sales of Capella,
a model based one of our pinto barb stallions. The model will be on sale in December, 2004.

Breyer's interest in pursing this project was the result of a request from the Salmon Model Horse 4H Club in Salmon, Idaho. The club members, all Breyer model horse collectors, learned about the Abaco Barbs through their 4H leader and adopted them as a special project. In addition to their own fund raising projects to aid the Abaco Barb, the club petitioned Breyer to make a Breyer model of an Abaco Barb to raise awareness of their plight. Thus the Breyer Benefit horse program was developed with Arkwild as the program's first beneficiary.

Breyer offers seven lines of model horses and is distinguished for creating the world's best loved and most famous horses from Hollywood Heroes like The Lone Ranger' Silver to equine legends like Secretariat, Seabiscuit and Misty of Chincoteague. Each Breyer model is individually crafted and hand painted by Breyer artisans, so that each Breyer model is an original.
